PUBG's next update will be more playful compared to the environment than PvP
According to one of the developers, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds next update will go from player-versus-player to player-versus-environment. A new weapon is coming to the Battle Royale game that will hopefully encourage players to be a bit more courageous as the turns decrease.
During the last Dev Corner on Community Feedback, Dave Curd, Creative Director of PUBG Corporation, gave a hint on how the upcoming patch is changing the focus of the team and players. “8.2 introduces the decoy grenade, which really influences player versus player engagements,” he explains. “At 8.3 we have something in store that is really more player versus environment. It will be a bit of a team that allows players to try and bet on playing towards the end. "
The Decoy Grenade added in PUBG Patch 8.2 creates shooting sounds wherever it drops when you throw it, making it a potentially very useful asset in those tense clashes. Since this is an environmental powerhouse in its own right, it will be interesting to see what the following inventory does to further change the paradigm of combat in Sanhok. Curd is also fascinated by what the players are saying: "I am very happy to see how the community is reacting."
The start of Season 8 introduced a revised Sanhok which now has an armored loot truck rolling through. Erangel has also received a few changes, the latest update brought four new ports to the island.
PUBG patch 8.3 is expected to be released later this month; Be sure to check out our PUBG guide if you are considering skydiving again.
